This poster is for a local library commission, to inspire and encourage children to read.
Recognizable themes and objects were pulled from a selection of popular books and genres, and edited to appear illustrated.
The background is a well-worn sheet of paper, evoking a book often read.
This poster was created to advertise the “Red Circle Showcase,” a yearly student-run performance.
The event information was pulled forward and made more bold, while the background text is from a textbook read that semester by the students, entitled “Art and Fear.”
Red was chosen as the predominant color, as a play off of the event’s name.

The purpose of this magazine cover mockup was to imitate an already-existing cover, in order to become familiar with the tools required to cohesively create for a company’s already-existing brand.
The fonts, colors, and layout were chosen and tweaked to match as closely as possible to the original Yara Shahidi Porter cover, as shown.
The photography, design, and editing was done by Cat Beal.
